Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is dead.
First, the news. Michael Jackson died at age 50, after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to reports, fire officials responded to a 911 call at Jackson’s home and he wasn’t breathing when they arrived. Paramedics performed CPR and immediately rushed him to UCLA Medical Center.
Now, I’m all for dissing media whores and celebrity stupidities, but calling the guy “Jacko” when he died within 24 hours isn’t my thing. Asking people to vote if Michael Jackson is a “tragic failure” or a “king of pop” is not right. Although he made really bad decisions in the last years of his life, everyone knows he IS a music icon. In fact, Michael Jackson is a 2-time inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Jackson 5 and solo), a 13-time Grammy winner, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and holds the record for the best-selling album in the world.
Rest in peace Michael Jackson.

Whether you choose to accept it or not, the music industry has just lost a legend. Give him the respect he deserves not just as an artist, but as a person. You can mock and hate him next time…not today.
