Unfortunately, it’s against the Malawi law to allow foreigners to adopt a child “THAT” easy and Madonna just took a beating from the local judge.

As it turns out, Madonna cannot adopt any child from Malawi, regardless of how rich or how huge her donation may be. Locals have criticized their government even before Madonna arrived in the country, saying that they should not encourage “fastening adoption process.” Apparently, you have to live in Malawi for at least 18 to 24 months before a court can allow a foreigner to adopt a child.

The judge ruled:

“I must have to decline to grant the application to Madonna. By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children, the courts by their pronouncements could actually facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals.”
