Bieber went to Seminole High School in Sanford to present the school with a $5,000 donation from the Grammy Foundation and Best Buy to support music education. The 16-year-old pop star played the drums and guitars, then spoke to summer band camp students.

In a statement, Justin said: ‘The students had no idea I was coming, and it was fun to completely surprise them. I was excited about this opportunity to team up with Best Buy and the Grammy Foundation to raise awareness around the important cause of funding music education programs in schools. I talked to students about pursuing their passion in music and encouraging them to keep doing what they’re doing.”

Throughout his visit, Justin Bieber kept his Twitter followers informed. He admitted of being sick that day, saying “I actually got sick in the middle of the show and they wanted to cancel but the show must go on and the fans gave me my second [wind].”

The Kings of Leon was performing at the Verizon Amphitheatre in St. Louis Missouri Friday when the rock band had to stop playing because of an infestation of birds.

During the first two songs, bassist Jared Followhill had been hit several times, including in the face. He said, “We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe.”

Drummer Nathan Followill apologized to their fans via Twitter, saying “So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons s***ing in Jared’s mouth and it was too unsanitary to continue.”

Kings of Leon manager Andy Mendelsohn said, “Jared was hit several times during the first two songs. On the third song, when he was hit in the cheek and some of it landed near his mouth, they couldn’t deal any longer.” He added, “It’s not only disgusting, it’s a toxic health hazard. They really tried to hang in there. We want to apologise to our fans in St Louis and will come back as soon as we can.”

Will Cotton unveiled a portrait of Katy Perry, which will be featured on the cover on her album “Teenage Dream.”

Perry has always been a fan of New York-based artist Cotton. He even served as the artistic director for the singer’s “California Gurls” music video. In a statement, Katy Perry said of Cotton: “The day I found Will Cotton, I knew I wanted to live in his cinematic cotton candy world. A fantastically art-directed music video and one piece of timeless album artwork later, I can proudly say I am more than a fan.”

The “Teenage Dream” album is due out August 24.

Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan blacks out while performing in Florida.

Corgan tweeted after their Tampa, Florida show: “That wasn’t a stage move or clumsiness— that was me blacking out.”

What’s weird is that when the Smashing Pumpkins performed a concert on Wednesday night (July 21), Corgan collapsed while singing “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” and no one noticed that he did. It was only when he announced it at Twitter did people began reporting about him collapsing.

Billy Corgan wrote: “Thanks a million to the fans in Tampa last night for a tremendous show! We can’t tell you how much we appreciate you today. And for those that saw me fall last night during ‘Bullet,’ that wasn’t a stage move or clumsiness — that was me blacking out and wiping out. I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet. But I can tell you I’ve got quite a good bruise and am moving slow.”

Corgan was such a professional that he was back on his feet within seconds.

Police pulled over two of Bret Michaels’ tour buses Wednesday night in Indiana and drug-sniffing dogs found marijuana and other drugs on board.

People magazine reported that Deputy Aaron Long of the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department said their dogs “alerted for the odor of narcotics coming from the front bus.” A second search was conducted on another tour bus and the dogs detected more drugs.

Apparently, it wasn’t the pot that got the buses noticed by the police. Deputies stopped the buses after noticing a trailer connected to the buses without a license plate light.

A rep for Michaels told People Magazine, “Mr. Michaels allowed an open search of the buses and everything was handled in a professional manner.”

Fortunately for Bret Michaels, no one of his staff members was arrested. The case will be forwarded to the Dekalb County prosecutor’s office for review.

Elton John is helping Eminem get clean.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 in the U.K. on Saturday, the 72-year-old John, who has been open about his own past issues with substance abuse, said: “I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it.”

Eminem admitted last May that he’d suffered from a serious drug addiction, which had led him to take as many as 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium a day. He opened up to Vibe magazine, saying “The numbers got so high, I don’t even know what I was taking.”

Soundgarden has officially announced that the band will reunite in 2010.

After months of a rumored comeback, it was only Friday morning when vocalist Chris Cornell shared the news via Twitter that the reunion was confirmed. Chris Cornell wrote, “The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!”

The band broke up in 1997, but rumors of the reunion has run rampant throughout 2009. In October, all four members of the band reunited backstage at a PJ concert in Los Angeles with Cornell joining Eddie Vedder and Co. onstage for a rendition of “Hunger Strikes,” Soundgarden’s 1991 hit.

That’s not all. Billboard also reported that Soundgarden is planning a tour for 2010 and are currently in negotiations to perform at several U.S. and international festivals. The only thing that remains uncertain is if the group would be recording new material.

John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston only broke up a month ago and yet Mayer is already singing a song about his “heartbreak.” Whine much?

His new song, called “Heartbreak Warfare,” has the lyrics “If you want more love, Why don’t you say so? Drop his name, push it in and twist the knife again; Watch my face as I pretend to feel no pain, pain, pain.”
