Mold caused Deaths of Brittany Murphy and husband Simon Monjack?

The deaths of husband-and-wife Brittany Murphy and Simon Monjack are being investigated. Authorities are trying to find out if mold in their home contributed to their deaths.

TMZ reports that the Department of Public Health is handling the investigation after Brittany’s mom Sharon Murphy agreed to give access to the late couple’s house. She’d previously refused. Simon’s mom Linda Monjack reportedly supports the decision.

According to reports, the mold issue popped up early in the investigation of Murphy’s death but was determined “not to be a contributing factor.” However, when Monjack died several months after Murphy, the suspicions about the molds returned.

Pneumonia was the cause of death for both Murphy (who died in December at age 32) and her husband Monjack (who died in May). The presence of mold could explain the damages found on their respiratory systems, but investigations will have to confirm that it did.

Veteran CBS newsman Daniel Schorr Dies at 93

Daniel Schorr, the journalist who made Nixon White House’s ‘Enemies List,’ died yesterday at Washington’s Georgetown University Hospital. No cause of death was reported.

Schorr is known for breaking stories from the Cold War era to Watergate during his time on CBS News. He also worked as a news analyst for the National Public Radio since 1985. Schorr was also one of Ted Turner’s first employees when he founded CNN in 1979.

For more than 60 years, Daniel Schorr worked in the media, beginning as a stringer for The Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times in Europe in 1948. He joined CBS in 1953 and worked there until he was forced to resign in 1976 after refusing to name the source of his secret documents regarding illegal CIA and FBI activities. He won 3 Emmy Awards for his stint at CBS. Although the network later asked him to come back, Daniel Schorr chose to lecture at colleges and join CNN.

First, the news. Michael Jackson died at age 50, after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to reports, fire officials responded to a 911 call at Jackson’s home and he wasn’t breathing when they arrived. Paramedics performed CPR and immediately rushed him to UCLA Medical Center.
Now, I’m all for dissing media whores and celebrity stupidities, but calling the guy “Jacko” when he died within 24 hours isn’t my thing. Asking people to vote if Michael Jackson is a “tragic failure” or a “king of pop” is not right. Although he made really bad decisions in the last years of his life, everyone knows he IS a music icon. In fact, Michael Jackson is a 2-time inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Jackson 5 and solo), a 13-time Grammy winner, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and holds the record for the best-selling album in the world.

Whether you choose to accept it or not, the music industry has just lost a legend. Give him the respect he deserves not just as an artist, but as a person. You can mock and hate him next time…not today.

Rest in peace Michael Jackson.
